There was a lot ilo
of concern about the density already in the area, and R-4 was higher density
than the Board thought should be allowed.
There was a unanimous vote that the Weng Ng request for R-3 was appropriate.
Both of the developments would have to have Town Approval for water and sewer.
After the Town Board met on February 11, 1985 concerning the problems of water
pressure and sewer capacity in the area north of town which would include both
the Scholar and Weng Ng property, the Planning Board met on February 13, 1985
to make further recommendations. The Town Board had determined that at this
point in time, the problems with water pressure would not allow either development
to be served in the near future. The Town Engineer is to make a feasibility study
and report to the Town Board by July or August, 1985 on what would need to be done
to serve the area with water and sewer. The Water •Commissioner estimates that
it would be at least 1 to 1 1/2 years before the Scholar and Weng Ng properties
would be able to have town water if the Town Board decided to proceed.
Oa February 13, 1985, the Hillsborough Planning Board passed a motion that
a recommendation be sent recommending that the Scholar and Weng Ng rezoning
requests be turned down due to the lack of sufficient water pressure to
allow usage of town water and due to the time period of 1 to 1 /2 years
before it is even possible that the pressure might be corrected.
If the County decides to hold this request until the decision is made by the
Town Board or if the County decides to rezone, please consider the comments
made on February 7, 1985 listed above.
