079 <br /> GRANGE COONTY <br /> BOARD CF CCMMISSIONERS Action Agenda <br /> ACTION AGEWA ITEM ABSTRACT Item No.Fri <br /> Meeting Date: AUGUST 20, 1985 <br /> SUBJECT: LEASE AMENXIENr—OID POLICE BUILDIKV <br /> DEPARTMENT: PURCHASING PUBLIC REARM: Yes X No <br /> ATTACHMENNS): INFOR4ATKIN CONENCr: MANWER'S <br /> OFFICE, X501 <br /> TELEPHONE 111/MR: <br /> PROPOSED LEASE AMEMMENT Hillsborough -732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 . <br /> PURPOSE: For the Board to consider approving an amendment to the recently <br /> enacted lease between the Town of Chapel Hill and Orange County <br /> for the rental of the Old Police Building. <br /> NEED: The Town of Chapel Bill has proposed an amendment to the lease <br /> which will require the County to: <br /> 1) Nan e the Town as an additional insured under its comprehen- <br /> sive general liability policy as it applies to the lease <br /> agreement. <br /> 2) Carry a $500,000 limit for fire-legal liability insurance. <br /> Fire legal is coverage with respect to property damage to <br /> structures leased to the County. <br /> 3) Require of its sublessees that they carry liability <br /> insurance naming the Town and County as additional <br /> insureds. <br /> IMPACT: 1) The County can add the Town as an additional insured on its <br /> general liability policy at no additional cost. <br /> 2) The County can purchase $500,000 of fire-Iegal liability <br /> for $250.00. The County currently carries $50,000 of fire- <br /> legal. <br />
