066, <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION POLICY <br /> In the event that there is probable cause to believe that <br /> the County's Planning Ordinances are being violated the following <br /> policy and procedure shall apply: <br /> 1. The Planning Department shall log any complaint from <br /> a citizen, the Zoning Officer or the Building Inspector. <br /> 2. The Zoning Officer shall investigate the complaint <br /> to determine the history and any other particulars about the case. <br /> 3. The Zoning Officer shall attempt to make personal con- <br /> tact with the property owner to discuss the violation and any <br /> action that is required to comply with the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> 4. The Zoning Officer shall send a certified letter to <br /> the property owner outlining the violation of the ordinance and <br /> the steps needed to bring the property or use into compliance. <br /> 5. The Zoning Officer shall reinspect the site after two <br /> weeks to determine compliance. <br /> 6. If the site is not then in compliance, the Zoning <br /> Officer shall hold a conference with the County Attorney to present <br /> the evidence of the case to him. The Attorney shall indicate the <br /> need for further investigation or information. <br /> 7. The Zoning Officer shall send a certified letter to <br /> the property owner restating the violation and subsequent events <br /> since the last letter. This letter shall state a new two-week <br /> deadline and inform the owner of the potential legal consequences <br /> if the violation is not corrected. <br />
