The Pioneers will be assisted by the <br /> Department of Transportation, and citizens across the state are encourag- <br /> ed to join in the effort to improve the environment in which we live, work <br /> and play. <br /> Goals of the Pioneers include: <br /> * Involving citizens as well as Pioneers and generating <br /> 200,000 man hours to clean up cities and towns and <br /> highways in North Carolina. <br /> * Establishing North Carolina as the No.1 Clean State! <br /> * Showing other states what can be done when people <br /> care and are proud of their state. <br /> * Motivating North Carolinians to be thoughtful and <br /> considerate of their home. <br /> To achieve these goals, help and support are needed from individuals, <br /> civic groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, clubs, church groups and other <br /> organizations. <br /> If you or your organization are interested in participating in this worthy <br /> cause, please contact: <br /> R.
