The area of <br /> home-based care, both for family day care homes and in-home <br /> caregivers, was chosen as the one on which to concentrate. Help <br /> was provided on how to start a family day care business in the <br /> home to new caregivers. Unregistered -day care homes were helped <br /> to register with the state. Current caregivers were invited to <br /> become part of the informal support meetings held in both Carrboro <br /> and Hillsborough. A file was established for persons willing to <br /> do care in the child's home, both full and part-time. A <br /> substitute pool of workers for day care centers was established <br /> for the summer of 1985. <br /> S. • <br /> • <br /> SUBSIDY FOR CHILD CARE <br /> • <br /> Through a grant from the Town of Chapel Hill , subsidy for child <br /> care was made available to 6 children from low-income Chapel Hill <br /> families frOm January - June.
