Hill 967-9251 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider approval of a Planning Services <br /> Agreement between the Town of Hillsborough and <br /> Orange County . <br /> NEED: At it's June 18, 1985 meeting, the Board of <br /> Commissioners authorized the inclusion of a <br /> Planner I position in the Planning Department 's <br /> 1985-86 budget proposal. The budget for the <br /> County, including that of the Planning <br /> Department, was subsequently adopted on July 3, <br /> 1985. <br /> The Planner I will provide planning assistance <br /> both to the Town of Hillsborough (21 .5 hours per <br /> week) and the County (18.5 hours per week) . <br /> Partial funding for the position is being <br /> provided by the Town ($12,500.00) , with the <br /> balance of $11 ,000.00 funded by the County. <br /> The Town of Hillsborough voted unanimously on May <br /> 28,1985 to enter into an agreement with the <br /> County for the provision of planning services. <br /> IMPACT: Execution of an agreement for planning services <br /> would commit to writing the terms and conditions <br /> that the Town and County have previously <br /> approved. An agreement would also satisfy the <br /> requirements of Chapter 160A, Article 20 <br /> (Interlace!. Cooperation) , of the General Statutes <br /> which permits one or more units of local <br /> government to enter into contracts and agreements <br /> with each other in order to execute any <br /> undertaking . <br />
