FARRINGTON FAMILY LANDS - MINOR SUBDIVISION - CLASS A PRIVATE ROAD <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> JULY 1, 1985 <br /> If the road is required to be paved, the cost of paving would <br /> prohibit any new lots from being created. It is anticipated <br /> that all new lots would be sold or given to family members. <br /> The Department of Transportation requires that there be at <br /> least 2 occupied houses per tenth of a mile (average along the <br /> length of the road) for a subdivision road to be eligible for <br /> state maintenance, if the road is brought up to state <br /> standards. The length of this road (including its proposed <br /> extension) is .366 miles. There are 8 existing homes served by <br /> Excel Lane or approximately 2 homes per 1/10 of a mile. <br /> IMPACT: Approval of a Class A private road (gravel) would result in <br /> subdivision of some of the lots. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Planning staff recommended approval of a road <br /> dedicated public and constructed to state-maintained <br /> paved subdivision road standards. <br /> The Planning Board recommends approval of a Class A <br /> private road. <br />
