111 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date JULY 1. l985 <br /> ActionjAgenda <br /> Item <br /> SUBJECT: PARTICIPATORY PAVING PROGRAM - PROJECT ADDITION <br /> DEPARTMENT: PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING Yes X No <br /> Attachment(s) Information Contact: SUSAN SMITH <br /> REQUEST LETTER <br /> APPROVED PROJECTS LIST <br /> VICINITY MAP <br /> Telephone Numbers <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> PURPOSE: Board approval of request that Stallings Road (SR 1198) and <br /> Rollingwood Road (SR 1194) be paved under the Orange County <br /> Participatory Paving Program. <br /> NEED: Stallings Road and Rollingwood Road are unpaved state maintain- <br /> ed roads in Rollingwood subdivision in Chapel Hill Township. <br /> These roads intersect with Bethel-Hickory Grove Church Road (SR <br /> 1104) . <br /> Paving of the roads would significantly improve the character <br /> of the community and address community concerns regarding the <br /> level of road usage and problems with dust and mud. <br /> A third road in the subdivision, Meadow Lane was approved as <br /> PPP priority #2 for the 1985-86 construction year. <br /> IMPACT: Acceptance of the project into the Participatory Paving Program <br /> will provide for improvement of the roads during the 1985-86 or <br /> 1986-87 Secondary Roads Improvement Program. <br /> If accepted, . Stallings Road and Rollingwood Road will become <br /> project #3 on the Orange County Approved Projects list. The <br /> local share of the construction costs is $19,808.00 for Rollin- <br /> gwood Road and $7,200.00 for Stallings Road bringing the total <br /> annual Program funding requirements to $41,612.00 to date. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Acceptance of Stallings Road (SR 1198) and Rollingwood Road <br /> (SR 1194) as a Participatory Paving Program project. <br />
