O7e, <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: COUNTY MANAGER <br /> FROM: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br /> DATE: MAY 31, 1985 <br /> SUBJECT: PLANNING SERVICES FOR TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH <br /> At it's May 29, 1985 meeting, the Hillsborough Town <br /> Board voted unanimously to authorize entering into an agreement <br /> with Orange County for the provision of planning services. Basic <br /> points contained in the agreement should be as follows: , <br /> 1. The Town of Hillsborough will provide funding in the <br /> amount of $12,500. This will be matched with $11,000 in <br /> County funds to provide an estimated $23,500 needed for <br /> salary and fringe benefits for a Planner I position. The <br /> annual appropriation by the Town will be increased each <br /> year by an amount which is reflective of cost-of-living <br /> increases approved by the Board of Commissioners for <br /> County staff. <br /> 2. A Planner I position should be provided as a minimum in <br /> that a college degree in planning,or related subject plus <br /> some (1-2 years) experience is required. The Town of <br /> Hillsborough indicated a preference for this type of <br /> educational/experience background. <br /> • 3. The Town of Hillsborough will provide additional funding <br /> as follows in it's budget: <br /> Attorney Fees $1,000 <br /> Telephone/Postage • 600 <br /> Advertising 700 <br /> Travel 300 <br /> Supplies 1,000. <br /> Computer Terminal 500 <br /> 4. The Planner I will work for the Town an average of 21.5 <br /> hours per week. Current working hours for the Town's <br /> planner are 8:45 am - 12:45 pm. The remaining time (18.5 <br /> hours) will be spent working for Orange County. Work <br /> will performed on an assignment basis, and time sheets <br /> will be prepared daily for activities performed for the <br /> Town. The Planner I may work more than 21.5 hours per <br /> week for the Town, provided a schedule of work is <br /> prepared and agreed to by both the Orange County Planning <br /> Director and the Town's Administrative Officer. In no <br /> • event, however, shall the average hours per week exceed <br /> 21.5 during the budget year. <br />
