The Orange
I County, Chapel Hill, Carrboro and OWASA staff representatives have been
meeting periodically to review the planning process to be employed and
discuss various elements of the work program.
Work completed to date includes all base mapping associated with the
project, collection and mapping of environmental data for Land Suitability
Analysis, completion of a "pilot" project concerning computerized mapping'
of environmental data, collection and mapping of existing land use data,
and preparation of outline drafts of growth issue, location standards
and population projections.
The Town of Chapel Hill has initiated efforts to update it's Land Use Plan
as part of the Joint Planning activities and has, also adopted a time schedule
governing this process. The schedule differs from that currently, being
employed by the County, and possibilities exist that compatibility between
the two plans cannot be achieved. .
- .-,
IMPACT: Updating the governing and advisory boards of the status of planning efforts
• will acquaint them with the approach being utilized in development of the
plan as well as work completed to date. Resolution of the difference in
time schedules can also be accomplished.
RECOMMENDATION: As the Boards decide.
0§111.1111110MINIMuliallamm . .
