The, application <br /> rate on the permit could not be exceeded: The farmer <br /> would tell OWASA when to apply sludge only if it were <br /> part of the contractual agreement. <br /> Shanklin inquired if Mr. Thompson's well was a deep <br /> or shallow well. Thompson responded it was a shallow <br /> well, 39 feet deep. <br /> Walters inquired about soil acceptability for septic <br /> tanks. He expressed concern regarding health <br /> problems due to soil absorption problems. <br /> Peter Kramer inquired what was the procedure was if <br /> EPA/DEM should find the process unsafe. any <br /> Gordon responded the Board of County Commissioners <br /> could take official action. <br /> Mr. Walker expressed concern regarding violations of <br /> the DEN permit. He had received no satisfication <br /> regarding his concerns in the petition. <br /> Gordon asked to whom the petition was sent. <br /> Hartley responded it was sent to OWASA and td Cecil <br /> Madden at DEN who in turn forwarded it to Mr. Atkins <br /> of their Inspection Staff. Mr. Atkins made no <br /> mention -of the p etition in his response. <br /> Mr. Walker- indicated there was no response by OWASA <br /> at the meeting regarding management of the sites. <br /> Hartley also noted that in the letter from Mr. Atkins <br /> that the comments regarding the Thompson well were <br /> incorrect. There were concerns that were hardly <br /> addressed at all and the inspection was made in dry <br /> weather. <br /> I <br />
