. . <br /> Project Description <br /> The study area for the proposed project as described in the <br /> McAdams' report generally consists of the area bounded by the <br /> Town of Hillsborough on the east, by Buckhorn Road (SR 1114) on <br /> the west, by Seven Mile Creek on the south, and by McGowan Creek <br /> on the north. For planning purposes, the study area is further <br /> divided into two sub-areas; the immediate planning area which <br /> consists of that area generally lying along US 70 in the center <br /> of the total study area where development already exists and the <br /> future planning area which consists of the area in the McGowan <br /> Creek basin to the north of the immediate planning area and the <br /> area to the south of the immediate planning area along the 1-85 <br /> corridor. The proposed sewer improvements for the immediate <br /> planning area consists of various elements to be constructed in <br /> six phases. Phase I of the recommended plan was intended to <br /> • provide the primary interceptor system, pumping stations and <br /> force mains to collect the wastewater from the Efland Estates <br /> Subdivision, the Efland Cheeks School , the central Efland area, <br /> and Graham' s Trailer Park near Maple Street. Wastewater thus <br /> collected would be pumped from a main pumping station off <br /> Brookhollow Road via a force main along US 70 East to the point <br /> of tie-in with the Town of Hillsborough collection system. <br /> Phases II through VI of the recommended sewer improvements would <br /> 2 <br />
