One advertisement is issued requesting proposal for <br /> repair to the roofs of both school systems. <br /> 2. The bid documents consist of: <br /> a. one set of instructions to bidders and common <br /> general conditions governing work to be per- <br /> formed. <br /> b. two sets of specifications: one for Orange <br /> County Schools' roofs prepared by its engineer, <br /> and one for Chapel Hill/Carrboro Schools' roofs <br /> prepared by its engineer. <br /> c. a bid form eAewi,9430414. requesting bids as <br /> follows: <br /> 1) Part I: A single bid for repair of all <br /> listed Orange County School roofs, <br /> and/or <br /> 2) Part II: A single bid for repair of all <br /> listed Chapel Hill/Carrboro School roofs, <br /> and/or <br /> • 3) Part III: A consolidated bid for repair to <br /> all listed Orange County School roofs and <br /> Chapel Hill/Carrboro School roofs, reflect- <br /> ing subtotals for the separate school <br /> system jobs. <br /> B. Bid Award <br /> 1. Each school system shall accept the lowest respon- <br /> sible bid for work to be performed on its roofs and <br /> enter into a separate contract with that bidder if <br /> the following condition exists: <br /> The lowest consolidated bid submitted for repair to <br /> Orange County Schools' and Chapel Hill/Carrboro <br /> Schools' roofs is equal to or greater than the sum <br /> of the separate lowest responsible bids submitted <br /> for parts I and II. <br /> 2. If the lowest consolidated bid is less than the sum <br /> of the lowest bids for parts I and. II, then this <br /> bid shall be accepted by both boards of education <br /> upon agreement by both boards that this is the <br /> lowest responsible bid. <br /> • <br />
