061 <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> mammas, upon completion of a 1984 survey of County and <br /> school system roof conditions by Law Engineering <br /> the County committed to a three year, repair/ <br /> replacement program, and <br /> WBERF,AS, the County appropriated $360,500 in 1984-85, and <br /> WHEREAS, an estimated expenditure of $767,000 is needed in <br /> 1985-86 to carry forward the second year of the <br /> repair/replacement program, and <br /> WHEREAS, both school systems have developed specifications <br /> and terms for a joint bidding of the total work to <br /> be done, and <br /> WHEREAS, if contracts can be awarded May 20, 1985 construc- <br /> tion can be completed between June and August 1985, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, without the assurance that the funds will be appro- <br /> priated to the school system by Orange County the <br /> school systems are prevented under North Carolina <br /> General Statute 115C-432(a) (4) from awarding bids. <br /> Nan, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of <br /> Commissioners authorizes the Chapel Hill-Carrboro <br /> and Orange County School Systems to proceed with <br /> the letting of a contract or contracts according to <br /> attached Agreement conditions including Exhibits A <br /> and B, <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners <br /> assures the boards of education that funds will be <br /> appropriated for the six school roofs in the 1985-- <br /> 86 County budget exclusive of the appropriations <br /> for other current and long range capital needs. <br /> Adopted this sixth day of May, 1985. <br /> Don Wilihoit, Chair <br /> Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Beverly Blythe <br /> Clerk to the Board of <br /> Commissioners <br />
