Wayne Weston(1,f--1)11 0 , Director DATE: March 8, 1985 RE: Fairview Park Development; recommendations for Phase I funding Initial work required for the reclamation and subsequent development of the Fairview Park site was estiamated at $134,000.00 as documented in the 1983 Master Site Plan prepared by Recreation and Park. Consultants, Inc. Estimated Phase I development costs as recommended in the master plan, are itemized below. Phase I Fitness Trail $ 23,500 Parking Area (North) 12,000 Picnic Units (6) 3,500 i Picnic Shelter 8,000 Softball Field 37,000 Basketball Court 13,000 ' Soccer/Football Field 15,000 Landscaping- 3,000 Tot-Lot 3,500 Play Area 6,500 Walkways 15,000 Sub-Total Estimated Costs $140,000 . In the best interest of the community and the entire park site, I strongly recommend that the proposed Basketball Court be eliminated from Phase I development considerations. I further recommend that the $13;000 allocated for this construction be re-allocated in the following manner: $5,000 to the Soccer/Football Field and $8,000 to the construction of the Picnic Shelter. I further request that any surplus funds resulting from the initial reclamation phase be used in the implementation of Phase I development.
