7 <br /> Chair Willhoit emphasized that this service plays a vital role in the <br /> County and there should be a partnership between the local government and <br /> higher levels of government. <br /> motion was made by commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Marshall to send the letter included in the agenda to the proper <br /> representatives, including concerns of the Board and emphasizing the importance <br /> of the SCS program to the County. <br /> Chair Willhoit requested adding to the letter what this cut would <br /> mean in the tax rate if SCS had to be funded locally. <br /> Commissioner Walker withdrew his motion. <br /> Commissioner Carey noted there are other cuts which are equally <br /> important which should also be addressed in the letter. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Lloyd to send the letter included in the agenda to the proper representatives <br /> including concerns of the Board which emphasize the importance of the SCS <br /> program to the County. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br /> 13. TRANSPORTATION PLANNyma GRANT (Resolution recorded in full in the <br /> minute book page .) <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Lloyd to approve the resolution authorizing submission of the grant application <br /> for a transportation planning grant up to $6,000 maximum from the North <br /> Carolina Department of Transportation. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br /> 14. EU1 EEEAMEMEM <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Carey to amend the 1984-85 budget by the following budget amendments: <br /> GENERALE FOND <br /> Appropriation from Social Services Permanency $ 7,611 <br /> Planning <br /> Source - Social Services Permanency Planning $ 7,611 <br /> Appropriation - County Manager $ 6,240 <br /> Source - Contingency $ 3,120 <br /> Source - Contribution from Chatham County $ 3,120 <br /> Appropriation - transfer to Capital Projects Fund $ 9,800 <br /> Source - Recreation $ 9,800 <br /> CAPIIML-PE)JBUELEEM <br /> Appropriation-Capital Fund-Recreation Van $ 9,800 <br />
