Care Networks both provide <br /> vital functions in the delivery of day care services in Orange County. For the • <br /> most part there is little overlap ia the services provided by each agency. Rather, <br /> -theme seems a clear delineation of roles and responsibilities that through co- <br /> operative efforts can effectively comollmwmt each other. Below is a brief <br /> • description of the major roles of the two entities. Each function is designated <br /> as either the sole responsibility of one agency or shared between the two, <br /> Where responsibilities are shared,, a discussion of this process follows. <br /> DAY CARE UNIT =IC D.S.S. <br /> A. Supervise and coordinate the government purchase of care system <br /> in Orange County. <br /> 1. Determine eligibility of day care subsidy and work with SOLE <br /> families to secure day care placements and the necessary <br /> transportatiaa. <br /> 2. Provide preventive and suroortive casework to fewilles SOLE <br /> using day came services purchase by the county. <br /> • 3. Monitor the expPrdlture of all purchase of care funds <br /> SOLE • <br /> • <br /> 3. Develop and malTvtain. purchase of care day cams programs for <br /> eligible families. <br /> 1. Provide.technical assistance, tralmlmc and supervision to SOLE <br /> centers meeting purchase of care staadamds to facilitate <br /> their continued particioatian in the program. <br /> 2. Provide technical assistance necessary to' develop additional SOLE <br /> day care spaces in centers end homes for purchase of care <br /> to meet the needs of particular clients-or the client <br /> community in general <br /> 1 <br /> C. Advocate at the local, state, and national level for increased SAD( ) <br /> day care funding for low income families, improved day care <br /> staTtiaris, monitoring and enforcararit, and improved and =andel <br /> day care options for ferilles. <br /> D. Provide technical support and collaboration in protective services SOLE <br /> abuse and neglect investigations of day care programs. <br /> 3.
