Bicycle advocacy groups <br /> Those who work with driver's education classes and traffic <br /> offenders <br /> j. Up to six (6) additional interested and concerned Orange County <br /> residents <br /> k. Two (2) OUTBoard members. <br /> B. Appointment — The Bicycle Safety Task Force shall be appointed by the BOCC. <br /> The staff shall return to the BOCC in May with an OUTBoard recommended list <br /> of individuals to be appointed to the Task Force. <br /> C. Term — The Bicycle Safety Task Force shall operate for a term not to exceed <br /> one (1) year from the future appointment date of the Bicycle Safety Task Force. <br /> D. Charge —The charge of the Bicycle Safety Task Force shall be the following; <br /> 1. Develop a campaign for bicycle safety education and research; <br /> 2. Develop an implementation timetable with estimated funding request <br /> information within the first 5 meetings, and present it to the OUTBoard for <br /> review and recommendation, and review and approval by the BOCC; and <br /> 3. Develop an implementation report and present it to the OUTBoard for review <br /> and recommendation, and review, approval and funding commitment by the <br /> BOCC. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Pelissier for <br /> the Board to: <br /> -Approve the amended Bicycle Safety Task Force Resolution (Attachment 3); <br /> -Review and appoint the 18 applicants that have been recommended by the OUTBoard <br /> (Attachment 1). <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> appoint Commissioner Price as the BOCC liaison to the Task Force. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Pelissier to <br /> select Heidi Perry as the Chair of the Bicycle Safety Task Force. <br /> Commissioner Price asked if the Task Force can decide who the chair would be. <br /> Commissioner Rich said she spoke to several members, and Heidi Perry is very <br /> passionate about bike safety. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said he agreed with Commissioner Price, but this group has 17 <br /> members and it may save time having an experienced person take charge in running the <br /> meetings. <br /> Commissioner Dorosin said the committee has members representing both sides of the <br /> issue, and, as such, it would be best to let the group pick their chair. <br />
