TWO • <br /> • <br /> SEPARATE PUBLIC HEARINGS WERE HELD ON THE STUDY, BUT <br /> NO ACTION WAS TAKEN BY THE COMMISSIONERS. <br /> PROJECTS BEGUN PRIOR TO THE 1984-85 YEAR, BUT WHICH <br /> WERE COMPLETED AND ACTION TAKEN INCLUDED THE ZONING <br /> OF CHEEKS TOWNSHIP, THE ADOPTION OF WATER QUALITY <br /> CRITICAL AREA STANDARDS AND THEIR APPLICATION TO <br /> UNIVERSITY LAKE, CANE CREEK AND THE UPPER ENO BASINS, <br /> THE ADOPTION OF A JOINT PLANNING AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> CHAPEL HILL AND ORANGE COUNTY, AND THE APPROVAL OF <br /> DRAFT AGRICULTURAL' PRESERVATION LEGISLATION AND ITS <br /> FORWARDING TO THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION FOR <br /> SUBMISSION. <br /> A MAJOR WORK ELEMENT FOR THE REMAINING PART OF THE <br /> • . • YEAR WILL BE THE PREPARATION OF A LAND USE PLAM, <br /> ZONING MAP, DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS AND ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> PROCEDURES FOR THE• JOINT PLANNING AREA. RATHER <br /> THAN CREATE SEPARATE DOCUMENTS, WORK IS UNDERWAY ON <br /> THESE ELEMENTS TO INCORPORATE ALL AS PART OF THE LAND <br /> USE CODE. 'THIS WORK WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN <br /> CONJUNCTION WITH EFFORTS IN THE JOINT PLANNING AREA <br /> TO INSURE COMPATIBILITY OF REGULATIONS BETWEEN CHAPEL <br /> HILL AND THE .COUNTY. • <br /> • <br /> (E) ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT ELEMENT OF THE WORK PROGRAM <br /> COMPLETED WAS, THE COMPUTERIZED BUILDING PERMIT <br /> SYSTEM. THIS WORK WILL BE COMPLETED AND THE SYSTEM <br /> OPERATIONAL BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR. <br /> E. 1985-86 OBJECTIVES . • <br /> THE 1985-86 YEAR APPEARS TO BE ONE OF "MAINTAINING CURRENT <br /> SERVICE LEVELS". MAJOR WORK OBJECTIVES WILL INCLUDE JOINT <br /> PLANNING EFFORTS WITH HILLSBOROUGH, DEVELOPMENT OF A <br /> COMPUTERIZED LAND USE INFORMATION SYSTEM, AND THE DEVELOPMENT <br /> OF AREA PLANS FOR THE 1-40/1-85 INTERCHANGE AND ACTIVITY <br /> NODES IN ENO TOWNSHIP. ATTENTION WILL ALSO BE FOCUSED ON THE <br /> ISSUE OF "PREZONING" AND HOW IT SHOULD BE APPLIED TO SPECIFIC <br /> AREAS OF THE COUNTY.
