044 <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> RESOLUTION • <br /> . ORANGE COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. Section 69-25.1 a petition <br /> has been submitted to the Board of County Commissioners of Orange <br /> County for the establishment of the White. Cross Fire District and for <br /> the calling of an election in the said district for the purpose of <br /> • <br /> submitting to the qualified voters therein the uestion.of levying <br /> q y' g <br /> and collecting a special tax on all taxable property in said district, <br /> of not exceeding fifteen cents ($.15) on each one hundred dollars <br /> ($100.00) valuation of property for the purpose of providing fire <br /> protection in said. district; and <br /> WHEREAS as required by N.C. Gen. Stat. Section 69-25.1, the <br /> said petition for the White Cross Fire District has been signed by <br /> • <br /> thirty-five percent (35%) of the resident freeholders living in the <br /> said district; and <br /> WHEREAS the Board of County Commissioners has consulted with <br /> the Orange County Board of Elections with respect to a date for the <br /> elections aforementioned; 0 <br /> IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED as follows: <br /> 1. The Orange County Board of Elections is respectfully <br /> directed to hold and conduct an election in the White Cross Fire <br /> District for the purpose of determining those in favor and those <br /> against levying a tax in said district for fire protection therein. <br />
