040 <br /> Route 5, Box 451 <br /> Mebane, NC 27302 <br /> January 16, 1985 <br /> Orange County Planning Department <br /> Orange County Courthouse <br /> Margaret Lane <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Dear Sirs: <br /> I do hereby request that you correct a zoning <br /> error contained in the Zoning Ordinance in Cheeks ' <br /> Township on a portion of Cheeks Township which is <br /> better known as Tract #37 and Tract #36C on the north <br /> side of Highway 70, which is now known as Wil-Com Truck <br /> Lines, Inc. property. <br /> Wil-Com Truck Lines, Inc. opened for business in <br /> February of 1972 as a truck leasing company. At that <br /> time we were renting a 30-foot by 50-foot building from <br /> Mebane Lumber Company to use as a shop, fueling point, <br /> servicing and storage area for trucks and trailers. <br /> In October of 1972, we purchased 17.45 acres and <br /> 3.83 acres from Mebane Lumber Company to use for the <br /> same purpose and have used this continuously to this <br /> time for our business. This property has been used for <br /> businesses for the last 35 years. Originally it was <br /> used by Bobby Roberts Lumber Company. Thereafter it <br /> was used as Norman Hobby Wood Working Shop. The next <br /> owner also used it for business purposes which was <br /> Mebane Lumber Company, our immediate predecessor in <br /> title, and we have used it continuously since <br /> purchasing it from Mebane Lumber Company, including the <br /> time that we leased it from Mebane Lumber Company. <br /> This property now has a shop, office, storage <br /> area, parking/fueling area and a small fire pond for <br /> fire protection. <br /> Thanking you for your attention to this matter, I <br /> am, <br /> Yours very truly, <br /> 14“1 <br /> H <br /> Burch Comp-t4-- <br />
