Functional Organization to Accomplish Mission • <br /> Our department is organized into divisions of delegated re- <br /> - sponsibilities and duties . Structured in this manner it pro- <br /> vides accountability and the ability to meet the goals and <br /> objectives of each division and the department. <br /> - Patrol Division: Responsible for providing 24 hour patrol <br /> service to all areas of the county and citizens . V • <br /> Investigative Division: Responsible for providing follow-up <br /> case investigations requiring extensive investigation and <br /> initiating investigations of criminal violations . <br /> Jail Division: Responsible for the safety, welfare and care <br /> of all prisoners housed in the Orange County jail, insuring <br /> compliance with all federal and state regulations . <br /> Crime Prevention: Responsible for presenting to the citizens <br /> all crime prevention techniques available. To assist them in <br /> additional methods and ways to help protect themselves and <br /> property . <br /> • <br /> Court/Transportation. Division: Responsible for' all court-room <br /> security, provide transportation of prisoners to and from <br /> court . Provide transportation for all mental commitments . <br /> Administration Division: Responsible for the continuous <br /> auditing of all the departments activities, insuring all <br /> policies , procedures , directives and goals are met . <br /> C. Rendered by the Department? <br /> The growth and expansion of both population, the development <br /> of more homes , businesses , apartments and mobile home courts <br /> has greatly increased our services . We must constantly revise <br /> schedules to provide manpower to meet the demands . The increase <br /> of 9 percent in 1984 versus 1983 calls-for-service is one <br /> indication of service growth for us . (1500 calls 1982) <br /> (10, 168 calls 1983) (10, 888 calls 1984) <br /> D.
