..■■■■■■■• <br /> REVENUE DEPARTMENTAL REPORT <br /> The mission of the Department of Revenue is to receive <br /> and distribute Ad Valorem Tax and Miscelaneous Revenue. <br /> The Revenue Department consist5 of two departments; Tax <br /> Collections and Miscelaneous Revenue. <br /> Due to the rapid growth in Orange County there has been <br /> a substantial increase in the number of tax accounts to <br /> be collected. Thisialong with Taxpayers waiting later <br /> in the year to pay and more Taxpayers paying in person, <br /> has created and additional work load for the Revenue <br /> Department. <br /> The Revenue Department intends to operate with its <br /> present staff but will reallocate duties of some of <br /> the office personnel in an attempt to eliminate the <br /> above work load when necessary. <br /> The Department head forsees a need for increasing the <br /> current tax collections and reducing the amount of <br /> delinquent taxes. The Revenue Department has accomplished <br /> its objectives in part but will take approximately two <br /> years to meet our current objectives . <br /> We implemented In Rem Foreclosures in July of 1933 and <br /> the number of delinquent real property accounts have <br /> decreased by 90%. The remaining 10% are under Judgement, <br /> Mortage'Foreclosure, Garnishment,. Bankruptcy, some type <br /> of forceful action or the ownership is undetermined. <br /> We expect to hold our first In Rem Foreclosure Sale in <br /> • the early Spring. <br /> In the coming year we will maintain our current Service <br /> Level. <br />
