76 <br /> Tell the employee he will receive written <br /> notice covering the significant points of <br /> the discussion. <br /> Review with the Division or Department Head <br /> the contents of the notice prior to de- <br /> livery to the employee. <br /> 4.7 Written Warning - Before issuing the final written <br /> warning, the Division or Department Head and the <br /> supervisor must review the contents of the letter <br /> which will include a notice of the employee that a <br /> continuation of the practice may result in dismis- <br /> sal. <br /> 4.8 Dismissal - Before a employee is dismissed because <br /> of unsatisfactory performance of duties, the <br /> following shall occur (except as provided in <br /> section 4. 9 below) : <br /> 4. 8. 1 A written summary of the case will be <br /> prepared by the supervisor and reviewed by <br /> the Division or Department Head. <br /> 4.8.2 Upon reaching a decision to dismiss the <br /> employee, an effective date of not less <br /> than two weeks notice will be determined. <br /> This two week period may include payment <br /> for accumulative vacation leave. <br /> 4.8. 3 The supervisor will give the employee <br /> notice of the decision. <br /> 4. 8. 4 A copy of the Notice will be placed in the <br /> employee's file. <br /> 4. 9 Incidents involving gross negligence or careles- <br /> sness will constitute grounds for immediate severe <br /> disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. <br /> 4. 10 Personal Conduct - An employee may be dismissed, <br /> or suspended without warning for causes relating <br /> to personal conduct detrimental to County service <br /> in order to avoid undue disruption of work or to <br /> protect the safety of persons or property or for <br /> other serious reasons. In less serious or dis- <br /> ruptive situations, steps similar to those listed <br /> under Performance of Duties may be in order. When <br /> an employee is suspended or dismissed im= <br /> mediately, the following steps will be taken by <br /> the supervisor: <br /> 4. 10. 1 He will tell the employee to leave the <br /> County property at once and either report <br /> back to the supervisor the following day or <br /> remain away until further notice. <br /> L <br />
