An employee in a <br /> supervisory position who is leaving the position <br /> shall be required to submit performance evaluation r, <br /> forms on all the employees under his/her super- <br /> vision who have not been evaluated within the <br /> previous six month period. <br /> 3.5 The evaluator shall discuss each performance <br /> evaluation with the employee being evaluated <br /> except at the time of separation of an employee <br /> from the service. If an employee disagrees with <br /> any statement in an evaluation, he may submit, <br /> his/her statements or comments of disagreement <br /> with signature. The department head shall furnish <br /> the employee an official copy of the employee's <br /> performance evaluation form. <br /> 3.6 Performance evaluations shall be confidential and <br /> shall be made available only to: the emloyee <br /> evaluated or his representative; his supervisor; <br /> department head; Personnel Director; County Man- <br /> ' ager; or The Governing Boards. <br />�I tiw <br /> ARTICLE VIII <br /> THE APPEALS PROCESS and THE GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE <br /> 1.0 PURPOSE <br /> It is the purpose of the Appeals Process to: <br /> Faciliate the airing and resolving of employee <br /> grievances fairly and swiftly. <br /> Promote a better understanding of policies, prac- <br /> tices, and procedures affecting employees. <br /> Improve employee/supervisor communications and <br /> relations. <br /> Nothing contained herein should be construed so as to <br /> restrict open discussion among employees and their <br /> supervisors regarding matters of County employment. <br /> Instead, this procedure serves as an extension and <br /> formalization of that process as needed for the resolu- <br /> tion of grievances. <br /> 2.0 POLICY <br /> 2. 1 It is the policy of Orange County to attempt with <br /> all due speed to resolve grievances on an individ- <br /> ual employee basis. <br /> ys <br />
