58 <br /> If funds -are approved by the Board of Commissioners, <br /> each department shall be eligible to receive a share of <br /> the salary increment fund in accordance with a plan to <br /> be approved by the Manager. In order for a department' <br /> employees to be eligible for earned salary increments, <br /> each employee recommended for a. merit raise must <br /> undergo a Performance Appraisal. The department head <br /> shall review all performance appraisals and shall <br /> recommend to the County Manager the employees to review <br /> the earned salary increments. The performance evalua- <br /> tion(s) shall accompany the recommendation and be made <br /> a part of the employee(s) personnel file. <br /> 8.0 SALARY OF RECLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES <br /> An employee whose position is reclassified to a class <br /> having a higher pay range shall receive a one-step <br /> salary increase or an increase to the minimum step of <br /> the new salary range, whichever is higher. However, in <br /> no case shall the salary exceed the maximum for the <br /> range. An employee whose position is reclassified to a <br /> class having a lower pay range shall not receive a <br /> reduction in salary as a result of the reclassification <br /> 9.0 SALARY OF PROMOTED EMPLOYEE <br /> t^4i <br /> tt An employee promoted to a position in a class having a <br /> higher pay range shall receive a one-step salary <br /> increase or an increase to the minimum step of the new <br /> salary range, whichever is higher. In exceptional <br /> cases upon recommendation of the department head and <br /> approval of the Manager, a two step increase may be <br /> awarded. However, in no case shall the salary exceed <br /> the maximum extablished for the range. <br /> ss; <br /> 10.0 UNSUCCESSFUL PROBATIONARY PERIOD FOLLOWING PROMOTION <br /> If an employee fails to complete successfully his <br /> probationary period following promotion, he shall be <br /> reinstated in his former position or in a position in <br /> the same class at his former salary if a vacancy <br /> exists. <br /> 11.0 SALARY OF TRAN @FERRED EMPLOYEE <br /> The salary of an employee reassigned to a position in <br /> the same class or to a position in a different class <br /> with the same salary range shall not be changed by the <br /> reassignment. <br /> 12.0 SALARY OF DEMOTED EMPLOYEE <br /> The salary of an employee demoted to a position in a <br /> class with a lower salary range shall be adjusted by <br /> action of <br /> the Manager upon recommendation of the <br /> department head to a step within the new range below <br /> the former salary. <br /> 13.0 SALARY OF PART-TIME EMPLOYEE <br />
