• <br /> 55 <br /> 19.E The Longevity payment is made in a lump sum on the <br /> payday for the pay period in which eligibility <br /> date occurs and annually in succeeding years. It <br /> is not considered a part of base annual pay for <br /> classification or other pay record purposes. <br /> 19.3 An employee must be in an active employment status <br /> on the date of issuance of longevity paychecks. <br /> 19.4 An employee who has officially submitted his/her <br /> resignation before the date of issuance of longev- <br /> ity paychecks shall not be eligible for longevity <br /> f' pay. <br /> 20.0 EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION <br /> 20. 1 It is the policy of the County to recognize and <br /> express appreciation for the long-term service of <br /> permanent staff employees, both full-time and <br /> part-time. <br /> 20.2 This program recognizes the employee's service at <br /> five-year intervals beginning with five and ending <br /> with 50 years of Aggregate County Service. It <br /> provides for greater recognition as the employee' s <br /> years of service increase. <br /> 20.3 The Service Appreciation awards are as follows: <br /> - 5 years: Letter to the employee from the department <br /> head expressing the County' s appreciation <br /> for the employee's service <br /> - 10 years: Letter to the employee from the County <br /> Manager <br /> • - 15 years: Framed personal Service Appreciation <br /> Certificate <br /> - 20 years: Induction into the Orange County 20 YEAR <br /> SOCIETY at the Annual Service Appreciation <br /> Banquet and presentation of a personal <br /> engraved plaque <br /> - 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 years: Invitation to • <br /> attend the Service Appreciation Banquet in <br /> the fiscal year in which the anniversary <br /> occurs. <br /> 21. 1 EMPLOYEE SUGGESTION <br /> Employee suggestions regarding ways in which to improve <br /> County services are encouraged and welcomed and can be <br /> made without threat or reprisal. If the suggestions <br /> lead to cost savings for the County, a cash award may <br /> be presented to the employee. <br /> 22.0 EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM <br />
