pH , 48 <br /> 11.0 FUNERAL. LEAVE <br /> 11. 1 Funeral leave may be used for death in an <br /> employee's immediate family, but may not exceed <br /> three consecutive days for any one occurence, the <br /> last day being the day after the funeral. Funeral <br /> leave with respect to distant relatives may be <br /> taken from vacation leave. (Full-time and part- <br /> time permanent employees only. ) <br /> 12.0 CIVIL LEAVE <br /> All county employees are eligible for Civil Leave with <br /> pay during regularly scheduled work time for certain <br /> court duty. <br /> 12. 1 Jury Duty - The employee called for jury duty is <br /> paid for regularly scheduled work time and is <br /> entitled to any fees received by the courts for <br /> this duty. The employee will not have to report <br /> to work that day. (Second shift employees do not <br /> have to report the night following a day of jury <br /> , duty. Third shift employees do no have to report <br /> the night before a day of jury duty. ) <br /> 12.2 Witness duty (not work-related) - The employee may <br /> be paid for regularly scheduled work time during <br /> which he or she is subpoenaed to appear as a wit- <br /> ness and remits any fees received to the County. <br /> The employee may elect to take vacation leave with <br /> S. pay, if any, and keep any fees received. <br /> 12. 3 Civil Leave is not granted far an employee's <br /> appearance (not work-related) in court as a plain- <br /> tiff or defendant. <br /> 12.4 Time spent on official County duties in court is <br /> work time and Civil Leave does not apply. <br /> Employees must turn over to Orange County any fees <br /> awarded by the courts for court appearances in <br /> connection with their official duties. <br /> I , 12.5 Civil Leave needs to be reported to department <br /> heads at the time notice is received. A depart- <br /> ' ment head may request a copy of the notice as <br /> needed to verify an employee's attendance in <br /> court. <br /> 13.0 MATERNITY LEAVE <br /> Maternity leave shall be granted when the employee <br /> desires to be away from work due to pregnancy, child- <br /> birth and recovery therefrom, and related conditions. <br /> Maternity leave is available to full-time permanent, <br /> and part-time permanent employees. <br /> 13. 1 In accordance with the County's policy on Equal <br /> Employment Opportunity, females will not be <br /> penalized in employment due to pregnancy, mis- <br /> =sr <br />
