4 ' <br /> , 37 <br /> (a) living expenses other than meals will <br /> be authorized only for trips where the <br /> destination is in excess of 40 miles <br /> from your workplace and is lasting <br /> overnight or longer; <br /> (b) employees and officials will be ex- <br /> pected to commence the return to Orange <br /> County as soon as practical after the <br /> conclusion of their business; <br /> (c) room and board expenses incurred by <br /> personal traveling away from Orange <br /> County on official business will be <br /> reimbursed no to exceed $45 per day for <br /> lodging, $15 per day for meals and <br /> gratuities. Provided, however, confer- <br /> ence sponsored meals and lodging ex- <br /> penses will be reimbursed in full ; <br /> (d) employees and officials will be reim- <br /> bursed for the actual cost of special <br /> expenses paid by them from their per- <br /> sonal funds, such as registration fees <br /> and other related expenses; <br /> (e) carpooling and the use of County-owned <br /> vehicles is hereby encouraged. <br /> A 9.3 The employee shall keep an accurate record of all <br /> expenses. No reimbursement will be paid without a <br /> completed Travel Expense Statement, signed by the <br /> employee and approved by the department head. <br /> Receipts, as required, must be attached to the <br /> Travel Expense Statement. <br /> 9. 4 The employee shall keep an accurate record of his <br /> time of departure to and from destination, and his <br /> time of return. <br /> 9.5 Participation in official out-of-town business <br /> meetings, authorized training courses, and author- <br /> ' ized professional conferences is "time worked" for <br /> the purpose of computing overtime or compensatory <br /> leave. <br /> 9. 6 Employees of the county absent from the county on <br /> official business, or in training courses or <br /> professional meetings, with authorized approval, <br /> will be covered by worker's compensation insurance <br /> in accordance with the North Carolina Worker's <br /> Compensation Act and the County's Worker' s Compen- <br /> sation Insurance Policy. <br /> ARTICLE IV <br /> EMPLOYEE BENEFITS <br /> gammommegma <br />
