4
PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING
A. Development Moratorium in Carrboro Northern Study Area -The Carrboro
Board of Aldermen will receive comment on a proposed six-month development
moratorium at a Town public hearing on March 27, 2007. The purpose of the
moratorium is to allow time to review/update the implementation of the Facilitated
Small Area Plan for Carrboro's Northern Study Area. Activities affected by the
moratorium include rezoning requests and special and conditional use permit
applications for residential development. The moratorium isn't official until
approved by the Board of County Commissioners following adoption by the
Board of Aldermen after the Town public hearing. A second public hearing is not
required, but the County Commissioners are unable to attend the Town public
hearing and wish to hear from residents before making a decision on this
important topic.
The development moratorium process is addressed in the Joint Planning
Agreement.
Questions regarding the proposal should be directed to the Chapel Hill Planning
Department at 968-2728. Inquiries may also be directed to the Orange County
Planning Department located in the Planning and Agriculture Center, 306E Revere
Road, Hillsborough, North Carolina. Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Monday through Friday. You may also call 245-2575 or 245-2585 and you will be
directed to a staff member who will answer your questions.
PUBLISH: Chapel Hill Herald Chapel Hill News
April 11, 2007 April 11, 2007
April 18, 2007 April 18, 2007
