9 <br /> Orange CounEy AFFORDABLE HOUSING STRATEGIC PLAN 2016 -2020 <br /> BOCC Work En September 1 <br /> Persons with Disabilities <br /> According to the 2007-2011 American Community Survey(ACS) data showed that 8.4%of the total populations in <br /> Orange County, over the age of 5 are disabled. <br /> With 8.4% of the total population over the age of five living with disabilities, this is a clear indicator for the <br /> need for housing for this population. <br /> Individuals with disabilities are mainly low-and moderate-income, and do not have the resources to <br /> always ensure their housing is accessible and/or affordable. <br /> Presently,there are 84 accessible housing units for persons with disabilities in LIHTC properties. <br /> As of December 2014 it is estimated that there are a total of 16 individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in <br /> Orange County. <br /> 7 <br />
