Discussion of thelPrOpos id Orange IC ounty FY 2016 -2020 Affordable Housing, <br /> Strategic Plan <br /> Audrey Spencer Horsley, Housing, Human Rights, and Community Development <br /> Director, reviewed the following information. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On April 5, 2016 the Board received the Proposed 2016 2020 Affordebite Housing Strategic <br /> Plan(AHSP) that has been developed as the County's long-range vision for addressing <br /> affordable housing needs over the next five (5)years. After receiving an overview of the Plan <br /> by the Director of Housing, Human Rights and Community Development(Director)and public <br /> comment,the zoard requested that the Director conduct additional community outreach,on the <br /> AHSP prior to holding a work session planned for May 10, 2016. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met on January 29, 2016 for an annual retreat. <br /> In reviewing the previous six goals the Board has used since 2009, affordable housing was a <br /> high priority under Goal 1: Ensure a community network of basic human services and <br /> infrastructure that maintains, protects,and promotes the well-being of all county residents. <br /> The Board stated that there be a priority for deciint, standard housing options for all ria,sidents <br />
