15 <br /> Orange CounEy AFFORDABLE HOUSING STRATEGIC PLAN 2016 -2020 <br /> BOCC Work _ n September 8, 2016 <br /> According to the 2007-2011 American Community Survey(ACS) data showed that 8.4%of the total populations in Orange <br /> County,over the age of 5 are disabled. <br /> Flamm % cif population over 5 Total Population <br /> living with disabilities <br /> Orange County 8.4% 140,352 <br /> Individuals with disabilities are mainly low-and moderate income, and do not have the resources to ensure that <br /> their housing is accessible and/or affordable. <br /> There is a range of disabilities that contribute to self-care and independent living difficulties.This requires <br /> having an affordable and supportive housing option for this population.. <br /> place Ages 5-17yrs Ages 18-64yrs Ages 6 + <br /> 6,326 -with <br /> 1,079 - disabilities that 30% or 3,775 have some type of limiting disability <br /> Orange County Cognitive contribute to <br /> Disabilities difficulties with (cognitive, ambulatory, and/or vision) <br /> independent living <br /> 13 <br />
