Orange County Board of Adjustment—Appointments <br /> 15 The Board considered making appointments to the Orange County Board of <br /> 16 Adjustment. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Price to <br /> 19 appoint the following to the Orange County Board of Adjustment: <br /> 20 <br /> 21 • Appointment to a first full term (Position #3) "At-Large" representative for Samantha <br /> 22 Cabe expiring 06/30/2019. <br /> 23 • Appointment to a partial term (Position #4) "At-Large Alternate" for Karen Raleigh <br /> 24 expiring 06/30/2017. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Discussion ensued about the Planning Board position on the Board of Adjustment that <br /> 29 has been vacant for three years, and whether it was a statutory position, or if the Board could fill <br /> 30 this position with an Orange County resident. <br /> 31 John Roberts said he would research this issue, and get back to the Board later in the <br /> 32 meeting. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 12. Board Comments <br /> 35 Commissioner Price said the opening of the Cedar Grove Community Center was a <br /> 36 wonderful event. <br /> 37 Commissioner Burroughs had no comments. <br /> 38 Commissioner Dorosin said the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond heard oral <br /> 39 argument on the North Carolina voting issues. <br /> 40 Commissioner Rich said tomorrow is the Triangle J Council of Government's (TJCOG) <br /> 41 Executive Director's review, and she is part of the review committee, and feels the Executive <br /> 42 Director has done an excellent job. <br /> 43 Commissioner Rich said the Community Home Trust was having an informative get <br /> 44 together tomorrow night at City Kitchen, and everyone was invited to attend. <br /> 45 Commissioner Jacobs said is there a meeting on the Mountain to Sea Trail (MST) on <br /> 46 Monday, June 27th. He asked if confirmation could be provided regarding the location. He said <br /> 47 the first meeting of the Firearms Safety Committee is tomorrow night, and he and Chair McKee <br /> 48 would be attending. <br />
