23 <br /> 1 Karen Porter, GoTriangle Associate General Counsel, said the Board's consideration of <br /> 2 this item is appreciated. <br /> 3 Chair McKee said he is concerned with the Board is approving something, when it is not <br /> 4 in a final form. <br /> 5 John Roberts said the agreement does not contain about Orange County expending <br /> 6 funds at this time, and the comments noted in this evening's packet are primarily the types of <br /> 7 changes the Board would see in the final document. <br /> 8 Chair McKee said he watched the Orange County and Durham Plan change constantly <br /> 9 for months and months, so he is leery of anything involved in this process. <br /> 10 John Roberts agreed, and said he totally understands. He said Wake County is on a <br /> 11 short cycle right now and needs things to move quickly. <br /> 12 Commissioner Pelissier said there is no binding cost to the County in this motion. She <br /> 13 said when regional buses come in to play, there will be negotiations with Wake County <br /> 14 regarding cost share. She said this is the only item, under which, Orange County would have <br /> 15 any financial obligations. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 A motion was made by Commissioner Pelissier, seconded by Commissioner Rich to: <br /> 18 <br /> 19 a. Add Wake County to the Renamed Triangle Tax District. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 b. Approve the Wake County Financial Plan (as set forth in the Wake County <br /> 22 Transit Plan) pursuant to NCGS 105-508.1. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 c. Approve GoTriangle's conducting of a referendum in Wake County pursuant to <br /> 25 NCGS 105-509(b)(1). <br /> 26 <br /> 27 d. Authorize the Orange County Manager to enter into an Agreement Setting Forth <br /> 28 the Mutual Understanding of the Parties as to the Scope and Content of the <br /> 29 Financial Plan upon final review of the County Attorney. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 32 <br /> 33 8. County Manager's Report <br /> 37 Bonnie Hammersley said the petitions that were submitted this evening will go forward, <br /> 38 and there will not be a chair-vice chair meeting until after the summer break. She said she will <br /> 39 check on Commissioner Price's inquiry about the Sheriff's department's salaries. She said <br /> 40 there will be some ongoing communication over the summer break, and questions from the <br /> 41 BOCC are always welcomed. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 44 John Roberts said he would be sending the Board some General Assembly updates this <br /> 45 week.
