ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT Meeting Date: February 20, 2007 Action Agenda Item No. 5-n SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule for 2007 DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (YIN) No ATTACHMENT (S): Under Separate Cover I INFORMATION CONTACT: Donna Baker, 245-2130 PURPOSE: To consider three changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar for year 2007. BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in the Regular Meeting Schedule. ? The Board will consider amending its regular meeting calendar by re- scheduling the Joint Meeting with the Town of Hillsborough (originally scheduled for February 15th ) for Monday, March 19, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the Link Government Services Center in Hillsborough, N.C.; and ? The Board will consider amending its regular meeting calendar by moving the Clerk's evaluation from Thursday May 31, 2007 to Monday, June 4, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center---prior to the Budget Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m. ( Chair will be out of town the week of May 28th - June 1S); and ? The Board will consider moving the Budget Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 29; 2007 to Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the F. Gordon Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, North Carolina. (both public hearings were originally scheduled for May 29th and May 31 St - however, the BOCC was able to move the 31S budget public hearing to Monday, June 4th and it was suggested that it would be helpful to staff to have the budget public hearings as close together as possible-therefore. if this abstract is approved the budget public hearings would be on May 31St in Hillsborough and June 4th in Chapel Hill ).
