To research the book, she interviewed seventy-five collaborative <br /> creators. She also studied group facilitation, mediation, conflict management, and anti- <br /> oppressive communication methods and structures. She worked with Alternate <br /> ROOTS' Resources for Social Change to help build an anti-racist approach to arts <br /> activism. She taught "Community-Based Performance, Where Art and Activism <br /> Intersect" at Duke, and "Creating Original Performance" at Bennington College's July <br /> Program. She has led many diverse groups, from middle-school students, to at-risk <br /> teens, to adults, in devising original performance. She premiered Mime Explains String <br /> Theory in 2010 at the Durham Arts Council.
