These higher efficiency condensing furnaces have pretty much become the standard and we
would not recommend the outdated 80%technology. However I do not anticipate the energy savings for improving
beyond the 14 SEER outdoor units would be worth the significant extra expense. This proposal does offer the significant
benefit of replacing the furnaces at this time as well as the outdoor units. The existing units are well beyond their
expected life and this would have been our design approach from the beginning if adequate funds for this facility would
have been available.
Please let me know if any questions or you wish to discuss this further.
Steve Kaufman, P.E., LEEDrAP
President
RN&M ENGINEERS
94 Main Street, Canton, NC 28716
828-492-0677 ext. 101
mobile 828421-7441
skaufmangrnm-engineers.com
From: Ron LaPann [mai lto:Ron.Lapann@warren-hay.corn]
Sent: Friday, May 27, 2016 9:43 AM
To:Steve Kaufman <skaufman @rnm-engineers.com>
Cc: abarnes@orangecountync.govj jethompson(orangecountyncgov
Subject: 2016-05-27 RE: Skills Development HVAC VE Ron
Good morning all,
My apologies for the delay in getting these options priced, I have been searching for R22 dry
units that we could offer as a alternate as discussed, unfortunately they simply are not
available.
With that being said I priced up options for consideration with various Seer ratings so you
could try to get in budget. You will also see options Carrier Controls as requested, and West
Campus ductless splits.
1
