Any work or materials not specifically mentioned in these plans and <br /> specifications,but required to make this job a complete and workable system shall be furnished and <br /> installed by this Contractor. All materials, fixtures, apparatus and materials and methods of <br /> installation shall meet with approval of the Designer. <br /> Certain items of manufactured materials and equipment are cited by manufacturer's or <br /> product name and model number. This is to establish a standard of design and quality,and is <br /> not intended to be restrictive as to the use of materials and equipment of similar design and <br /> equivalent quality by other manufacturers,which may be used subject to the approval of the <br /> Designer. <br /> A.Proposed Equivalent Products:Items proposed as equivalent to those cited will be considered by <br /> the Designer up to 10 days prior to receipt of bid, and shall be subject to the approval of the <br /> Designer. <br /> After that date,no equivalent material or substitution will be considered or approved, and all items <br /> shall be as specified. <br /> Approvals to consider a proposed brand as being equivalent are for acceptable quality range and are <br /> not intended or to be construed as a detailed review of products, features, accessories, mounting <br /> hardware,compatibility with other equipment being furnished and space available.Preceding are the <br /> Contractors responsibility to insure a complete and coordinated installation of this product and must <br /> be submitted for approval and review as specified for submittal data.The approval to bid a proposed <br /> equivalent brand as a acceptable equipment design product does not relieve the contractor of this <br /> responsibility. <br /> Equivalent Products proposed for approval for equipment specified must be equal in every respect <br /> and this Contractor shall base his proposal on the quality of materials and equipment covered in <br /> these specifications and shown on the drawings, complete with all accessories,hardware, features <br /> and functions to provide the same satisfactory performance on this project as the specified item or <br /> system. If required by the Designer,this Contractor shall submit for inspection samples of both the <br /> specified and the proposed substitute items for comparison by the Designer and test data from a <br /> recognized independent testing laboratory for both pieces of equipment. <br /> Where equivalent products proposed and approved for bidding alter the design or space requirements <br /> indicated on the plans, this Contractor shall include all items of cost for the revised design and <br /> construction,including the cost of any changes or modifications in structural or architectural details, <br /> and/or electric service, and the cost of all allied trades involved resulting from use of equivalent <br /> 15H-16 <br />
