Board of Health —Appointments <br /> The Board considered making appointments to the Board of Health (BOH). <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Burroughs, seconded by Commissioner Pelissier <br /> to appoint the following to the Board of Health: <br /> • Appointment to a first full term (Position #2) "At-Large Pharmacist" representative for <br /> Dan Dewitya expiring 06/30/2019. <br /> • Appointment to a second full term (Position #9) "At-Large Dentist" representative for Dr. <br /> Sam Lasris expiring 06/30/2019. <br /> • Appointment to a third full term (Position #10) "At-Large Physician" representative for <br /> Dr. Paul Chelminski expiring 06/30/2019. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> SPECIAL NOTATION — In January 2016 the Board of Health voted to change the terms of <br /> each position to three (3) terms in accordance with NCGS 130A-35 from two (2) terms as has <br /> been the standard. Therefore each member in good standing will be eligible to serve three (3) <br /> three (3) year terms. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said he had some concerns about the BOH going to three 3-year <br /> terms, but knows that the BOH Board and the Department of Social Services (DSS) Board <br /> have that legislative authority. He said only these two boards that have that authority and <br /> other boards are not permitted to do so. <br /> e. Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees <br /> The Board considered making an appointment to the Durham Technical Community <br /> College Board of Trustees. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> appoint Lee Storrow to the Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees at the <br /> BOCC Appointee with a term expiring June 30, 2019. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />
