Master Plan Recommendations w/NOTE <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Geoff Gledhill, 732-2196 <br />Gwen Harvey, 245-2300 <br />David Stancil, 245-2590 <br />PURPOSE: To confirm proposed resolution to the Public Works land swap issue with the <br />Town of Hillsborough related to the agreement between the Town and the County, thereby <br />helping to finalize the Fairview Public Campus Master Plan approval process. <br />BACKGROUND: In the fall of 2004, the BOCC asked the Town and County legal and <br />management staff to refine a draft Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that would outline a <br />design process for creating a Fairview Public Campus Master Plan. The Plan would <br />encompass the 67-acre Fairview park site and the adjoining 26-acre County Public Works <br />property, including properties subject to land swap discussions. A Memorandum of <br />Agreement was approved by the BOCC and Town during November 2004. <br />Attachment 1 - by way of reference - is a copy of the executed Memorandum of Agreement. <br />This Memorandum of Agreement did not address park facilities operations or maintenance - <br />matters to be addressed under separate cover pending future negotiations between the <br />County and Town. <br />The Fairview Public Campus Master Plan Committee began its work in October 2005 and <br />recommendations were presented to both elected bodies in early 2006. It was during the <br />final stages of the planning process that questions arose between the County and Town on
