Public funds may not be spent on <br /> campaigns either to promote or defeat passage of any bond order presented to voters. <br /> Depending on the scope of work negotiated with the vendor, the total cost of the contract and all <br /> efforts related to the Committee's work may be up to $50,000. Pending any alternative direction <br /> from the Board, staff will present a budget amendment at the May 17, 2016 meeting to allocate <br /> $20,000 from the Board of Commissioners' 2015-16 Contingency account to fund the initial costs <br /> of the Committee's work. <br /> The Manager's proposed 2016-17 budget will include an additional recommended appropriation of <br /> $30,000 for the Bond Education Committee activities, vendor services and information materials <br /> and will be subject to final approval by the Board of County Commissioners as part of FY 2016-17 <br /> budget deliberations. <br />
