PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> 31 Chair McKee dispensed with the reading of the Public Charge. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 3. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS <br /> 34 <br /> 35 a. Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text <br /> 36 Amendments -To review government-initiated amendments to the text of the <br /> 37 Comprehensive Plan and UDO regarding revisions to the 0/1 (Office Institutional) zoning <br /> 38 district and to add a new permitted use type, Research and Manufacturing Facility, to the <br /> 39 modified 0/1 district and to the Industrial districts (I-1, 1-2, and 1-3). <br /> 40 <br /> 41 BACKGROUND: <br /> 42 Based on Board of County Commissioners' (BOCC) goals to promote economic sustainability <br /> 43 through planning policies and orderly growth this amendment is proposed. In order to manage, <br /> 44 accommodate, and review mixed-use developments containing office, research, and <br /> 45 manufacturing, the Planning Director has initiated a text amendment to the 0/1 <br /> 46 (Office/Institutional) zoning district. The amendment proposes to: <br /> 47 • Rename the 0/1 (Office/Institutional) zoning district to the O/RM (Office/Research and <br /> 48 Manufacturing) zoning district. <br /> 49 • Allow for additional principal uses to be permitted by right in the modified O/RM district. <br /> 50 • Delete residential uses as a permitted use in the modified O/RM zoning district. <br /> 51 • Delete tourist home as a permitted use in the modified O/RM zoning district. <br /> 52 • Modify the existing assembly and packaging use type in Section 5.2, Table of Permitted <br /> 53 Uses. <br /> 54 • Create a new permitted use type, Research and Manufacturing Facility, to allow for <br />
