Affordable Housing — Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force <br /> 36 Travis Myren reviewed the following background: <br /> 37 On March 22, 2016, Commissioner Bernadette Pelissier petitioned the Board of Commissioners <br /> 38 to create a multijurisdictional work group composed of elected officials to guide Countywide, <br /> 39 collaborative efforts on affordable housing. The Board of Commissioners discussed this topic <br /> 40 during its work session on the Affordable Housing Strategic Plan as a way to coordinate <br /> 41 programs and leverage resources. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 During that discussion, Board members asked staff to evaluate whether the existing HOME <br /> 44 Committee could be used as the multijurisdictional entity by simply expanding its scope as an <br /> 45 alternative to creating a new committee. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 The HOME Committee already has many of the characteristics and orientation necessary to <br /> 48 assume the responsibilities of a multijurisdictional affordable housing committee. <br /> 49 He said: <br />
