Information on Discussions with Piedmont EMC Regarding the
Possible BMX Bicycle Course in the PEMC Easement
At the April 14`x'worksession,the Work Group report included a suggestion for the
Board's consideration for location of a future BMX bicycle course in the PEMC
high-transmission powerline easement that transects the property from west to
east. The proposed master plan reflects a general outline of a possible course.
The location of this course is technically within the educational campus portion of
the property, as per the original Preliminary Concept Plan However,it is in an area
where little activity is possible by an entity in terms of built facilities. Generally,
some facilities such as parking lots and other non-structural components have been
permitted from time to time to occur within such easements, with the
understanding that the power company reserves the right to take measures
necessary for upkeep or emergency access and construction (possibly resulting in
the loss of the"facility'within the easement) as needed
