• <br /> / <br /> BOOR 6 PACE 600 <br /> May 25, 1967 Minutes continued <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Walker, the <br /> foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL <br /> BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE ON MAY 23, 1967, AND DETERMINING AND <br /> DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF" was passed by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Commissioners Bennett, Ray, Walker and Ward . <br /> Noes: None. <br /> i Thereupon Commissioner Ward introduced the following resolution which was <br /> read: <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTING A STATEMENT OF THE <br /> , RESULT OF THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD <br /> IN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE ON MAY 23, 1967, <br /> AND PROVIDING FOR THE RECORDING, FILING +I <br /> j AND PUBLICATION THEREOF <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange: <br /> Section 1. The Board of Commissioners has prepared and does adopt the <br /> ( following statement of the result of the special bond election held in the County <br /> t of Orange on May 23, 1967: <br /> I <br /> STATEMENT OF RESULT <br /> i of the <br /> ii <br /> SPECIAL BOND ELECTION �f <br /> HELD in the <br /> COUNTY OF ORANGE, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ON May 23, 1967 <br /> At a special bond election held throughout the County of Orange, North <br /> Carolina, on May 23, 1967, 13,254 voters were registered and qualified to vote. <br /> At said election 4,041 votes were cast for the order authorizing the County <br /> of Orange to contract a debt and in evidence thereof to issue not exceeding <br /> $3,000,000 School Building Bonds of said County for the purpose or providing funds, <br /> with any other available funds, for erecting additional school buildings and other <br /> school plant facilities, remodeling, enlarging, and reconstructing existing school f, <br /> buildings and other school plant facilities and acquiring necessary land and equipme t <br /> q therefor, to provide additional school facilities in the County of Orange to <br /> maintain the six months' school term in said County as required by Section 3 of <br /> Article IX Of the Constitution, and authorizing the levy and collection of a <br /> sufficient tax for the payment of the principal of and the interest on said bonds, <br /> and 2,323 votes were cast against said order', that a majority of the qualified voter of <br /> said County who voted at said election voted in favor of the approval of said order, <br /> ' and that said order was thereby approved and isin force and effect. <br /> This statement is given by order of the Board of Commissioners for the <br /> County of Orange, this 25th day of May, 1967. <br /> SS Harvey D.
