7' , MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br /> 90(lK , °ACE 598 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> May 25, 1967 <br /> j The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met in <br /> (4 regular adjourned session at the County Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina, <br /> {'at eleven o'clock A.M., on May 25, 1967. <br /> Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. Ray, Henry S. <br /> 1Walker and Ira A. Ward. 1 <br /> iEAbsent: Carl M. Smith. <br /> ;{ At eleven o'clock A.M., the members of the Board of Commissioners for the <br /> County of Orange met with the County Board of Elections of Orange County and the two <br /> (Boards, as two separate bodies, separately received from the registrars and judges of <br /> selection in the various precincts of the County of Orange the returns of the special <br /> (bond election held on May 23, 1967. <br /> After the returns of said special bond election had been canvassed by said Board!, <br /> {(of Commissioners, such canvass being simultaneous with the canvassing thereof by the <br /> (County Board of Elections in the same place, Commissioner Ward introduced the { <br /> following resolutions which was read: <br /> RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE <br /> SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE COUNTY <br /> j OF ORANGE ON MAY 23, 1967, AND DETERMIN- i <br /> ING AND DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF <br /> !( BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange: <br /> 4 <br /> a, 1 <br /> j Section 1. The returns of the special bond election held in the County of <br /> (10range on May 23, 1967, having been received from the proper election officers and 1 <br /> j(having been canvassed, the Board has found and determined and does hereby declare: i <br /> (a) That each registrar and judge for the special bond election held in the <br /> (County of Orange on May 23, 1967, was duly qualified by law and had taken the <br /> !I necessary oath. <br /> (f (b) That the election officers had incorporated in their returns not only <br /> (Ethe number of votes cast for and against the question submitted but also the number <br /> lof voters registered and qualified to vote in each precinct in the election. <br /> '( (c) That at said election there was submitted to the qualified voters of <br /> !,(said County the following question: <br /> Shall an order finally passed on April 17, <br /> 1967, authorizing the County of Orange, 1 <br /> North Carolina, to contract a debt, in addi- <br /> tion to any and all other debt which said '1 <br /> 11 County may now or hereafter have power or <br /> authority to contract, and in evidence there- I( <br /> ( of to issue.
