Board Comments <br /> Commissioner Rich had no comments. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said he and Chair McKee attended a meeting with the Rogers <br /> Road property about easements, and it went well. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said there is artwork by local artists in the hallway of the facility <br /> which can be purchased. <br /> Commissioner Dorosin said it was Charter School Advocates week at the General <br /> Assembly, and the bill to add additional funding to charter schools will come from the <br /> Department of Transportation (DOT) and food funds. He said it is likely that will get attached <br /> to another bill and, reportedly, this will happen very quickly and he will keep the BOCC <br /> informed. <br /> Commissioner Price asked if John Roberts will keep the BOCC up to date on the fall <br /> out of HB2 and the repeal process. <br /> Commissioner Burroughs asked if Commissioner Rich and Commissioner Jacobs could <br /> provide a brief update regarding the Solid Waster Advisory Group (SWAG). <br /> Commissioner Rich said there have not been many meetings lately, and at the next <br /> meeting, mattresses and the ReStore will be discussed. <br /> Bonnie Hammersley said the interlocal agreement conversation was suspended in <br /> order to bring in a consultant to review the financial issues within Solid Waste. She said this <br /> consultant will be presenting a report at the next meeting on May 25th <br /> Chair McKee said in reference to HB2, he heard today that certain members of the <br /> General Assembly will not do anything about the letter from the Department of Justice. <br /> Chair McKee said the residents of Cedar Grove Community Center have been touring <br /> other community centers and have met with the Rogers-Eubanks Neighborhood Association <br /> (RENA) in hopes of emulating the RENA model. <br /> Chair McKee referred to the firearms safety committee, and said he cross-referenced <br /> the applicants to the committee with the speakers from the February BOCC meeting. He said <br /> only seven people that spoke that evening submitted applications. <br /> Chair McKee said an email was received regarding the Board of Equalization and <br /> Review, as well as another email regarding the Mountains to Sea Trail. He said he replied to <br /> the Board of Equalization and Review today, and staff is putting together an email response <br /> regarding the Mountains to Sea Trail email. <br /> 13.
