The ` i 1 t- <br /> center carries out human re- s <br /> x <br /> source functions such as ac- ` �° <br /> Wiz; +.".".::- <br /> cepting applications on com- 1/4 • <br /> pany's behalf, scheduling in- <br /> terviews upon their request, <br /> .. ." . v <br /> . . <br /> organizing job fairs, providing <br /> space to conduct interviews. <br /> In collaboration Alamance <br /> Community College (ACC) <br /> developed customized trainings known as the "Cambro Way" to be offered to the selected <br /> hires in order to assure they understood the specific manufacturing process, required goals, <br /> and overall company expectations. NCWorks staff utilized Workforce Innovation and Oppor- <br /> tunity Act (WIOA) funding to create On-the-Job Training (OJT) plans so Cambro could leverage <br /> resources that would help save the company additional training costs associated with the hiring <br /> and training of new employees. The Director of the Alamance Chamber and Economic Devel- <br /> opment continued to assure information and resources were delivered to the business as pro- <br /> posed. Cambro recognized these partners for helping make a difference in their location to the <br /> area. <br /> •On The Job Training (OJT)...Alamance County NC Works Career Center penned a total <br /> of 20 new OJT contracts for three local employers: Cambro- 13 On the Job Training Partici- <br /> pants (Average range of salary $14.50 per hour), ITG- Intl Textile Group-Burl Finishing- 6 <br /> On the Job Training Participants (Average pay $10.50 per hour), Summit Design-1 On the Job <br /> Training Participant (average pay 14.50 per hour). On the Job Training offers employers par- <br /> tial reimbursement for paid employees while they are engaged in productive work and that pro- <br /> vides the knowledge and skills essential to the full and adequate <br /> performance on the job.
