ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NCWORKS CAREER CENTER <br /> 4 Wo rks - <br /> Highlights <br /> career center <br /> •NC WORKS CERTIFIED...The Orange County Career Center became NCWorks state <br /> certified on November 20, 2014. Certification requires a rigorous application process with great <br /> attention to detail regarding procedures and customer satisfaction. Customers visiting the cen- <br /> ter will experience a new improved, integrated and seamless delivery of customer service <br /> • Partner Collaboration: Orange County Department of Social Services; NCWorks Career <br /> Center and Durham Technical Community College. Through a collaborative effort Orange <br /> County Department of Social Services; Orange County NCWorks Career Center and Durham <br /> Tech conducted analysis of job openings with the highest turnover. It was determined that one <br /> of areas was in the office administrative field. Durham Tech staff designed a short-term Ad- <br /> ministrative Office Certificate program. The Department of Social Services and Orange County <br /> NCWorks Career Center staff identified 16 candidates to be enrolled in the program. The pro- <br /> gram was offered at the Orange County Campus in Hillsborough, NC. The program prepared <br /> individuals to perform a variety of clerical tasks within a professional office setting. These classes were designed to help job seekers make a positive first im- <br /> pression, improve online presence, guide their contacts, and be more confident when inter- <br /> viewing. The classes included: mock interviews, individual and group exercises, networking, <br /> and much more.
